I started with heavy use of ChatGPT for programming and debugging on various projects. Then I came across Grok Bot, and it changed how I get work done.
After some initial technical setup, I can monitor and maintain the websites I manage through chat. I built a detailed net worth and money management site for personal use, and a working operations dashboard for my business, Precision Conveyor. Day to day, those systems are handled by chat bots instead of me clicking through admin screens.
The bots also keep the data current. They sync business data from my MS Access system into the Precision executive dashboard, and they pull transactions from all of my accounts into the finance dashboard. I’ve been looking for a replacement for Microsoft Money since it was discontinued about a decade ago. This is the first setup that actually does it.
A few things I’m working on next:
- A new site with a shopping cart. I was going to run it through WordPress, and I may just build it myself with the bots instead.
- A home inventory system.
- Replacing my existing MS Access business system. It has hundreds of tables and more than 20 years of development in it. I can see a web version on SQL taking its place.
- An advanced quote follow-up system for Precision Conveyor. The MS Access version is decent. A web version could go a lot further.
My personal and professional productivity is already much higher with AI, and I expect a bigger jump in the business soon. These systems feel like dedicated employees with a lot of knowledge and time, at a small fraction of the cost.
